Registering At This Site

Why register?

1. It’s easier for you to browse the site and post comments once you’re logged in.

2. It’s easier for me because I don’t have to moderate your comments if you don’t leave your email, which is never publicly displayed

How to register

1. In order to register, please click the link: REGISTER. Or you can click in the right sidebar at any point. You will be asked your favorite character. This is to ensure that you are not a computer. Since installing this field, I no longer have 20 spam users a day. It’s quite lovely.

2. Once you register, you will receive an email with a generated password. If you don’t receive it within a few hours, please check your spam folders. When I signed up with a dummy user account, I received mine instantly.

The email will come from, so add that to your white list to receive the email.

3. If you do not receive an email within 24 hours or your email is missing information (your password), please reply to this page or contact me. I will manually send you this information.

4. Once you’ve login, you are sent to this page:

(Please click to enlarge)

This is your profile page where you can change the colors of your dashboard, edit the way your name is handled on the site, etc. There is also a message saying your password is currently computer generated, prompting you to change it. I recommend doing so.

Reply to this page or any other if you have problems. I am a grad student constantly in contact with the internet. I receive most emails within ten minutes, and if I’m home, I can have the problem fixed in less than twenty minutes.

  • I still have not been able to log in. I think I signed up though something else you have. Thanks Carla

  • You more than likely signed up for the updates list, and you probably didn’t create an account. Once I approve one comment with your email, I don’t have to moderate your email again to prevent spam 🙂 So you’re safe to register.

  • If I’m already registered do I have to register again?

According to Nicole on May 1, 2014
  • Nope, you’re all set. I only deleted accounts that hadn’t been activated and that I haven’t seen on the site. I assure you, I’ve seen yours 🙂

According to Melissa on May 1, 2014
  • I register just waiting on the conformation…Thanks

    According to Renee79 on May 1, 2014
  • I thought I was registered as I got your emails, but all of a sudden I am not getting your emails. Should I re-register?

According to Laurie on May 1, 2014
  • Currently, you’re logged as a public subscriber who hasn’t registered and hasn’t confirmed your subscriptions. When I activated the subscription list, I didn’t realize that it was separate from the registration, so now if you were signed up for that, but not registered, you aren’t receiving any emails.

Your email is not registered with the site, though. So I would register just to be on the safe side and choose your subscription options. I know this is insane right now, but we’ll get through the kinks and it’ll be better soon.

According to Melissa on May 1, 2014
  • Sorry, not to be dumb about this, but do I just type my email in where it says subscribe? I did that a couple times, but didn’t get a conformation. Thanks.

According to Laurie on May 1, 2014
  • Don’t worry about asking questions. I want to get all the problems ironed out. I think I’ll take the subscription box out, and just ask people to register. It’s hard, because I’m an admin, so I don’t see the site in the same way.

Use that link to register. I have to approve all new users, so I’ll know if it comes through.

  • I have updated this page with a more thorough explanation of the process. Hopefully that’ll help!

According to Melissa on May 2, 2014
  • It was very helpful and much easier. I did the 1st step (register), but never got an email. When I tried to register again, it said the user name and email were already registered. Sorry to be such a pain about this.

According to Laurie on May 2, 2014
  • No worries-you’re going through this trouble to register for my site, the least I can do is help. I’ll send you an email with a password and an activation code from my own gmail address ( so look the info from there. You’ll be able to activate your account that way.

According to Melissa on May 2, 2014
  • What happened to Laurie happened to me. The registration went through but i never received an email. I then tried with login and forgot password option. Again no email, not in the spambox either. Not sure what to do now, I think I need help. Any ideas? Thanx!

According to Aradia on May 2, 2014
  • Oy, with my life 😛 I saw your username pop up when I approved it. I shall get your details and email you like I did Laurie. Look for an email from my gmail (melissasuemchugh) in less than ten minutes.

We will get this sorted out if I have to personally email eveyone their passwords. This world, man.

According to Melissa on May 2, 2014
  • Yes, we have lift off, thank you! Hope everyone else has a smooth ride. That way you can get back to writing. 😉

According to Aradia on May 2, 2014
  • I just registered, but now it says that I need to be approved. That’s all I am waiting on.

According to Mendy on May 3, 2014
  • I approve all new members trying to weed out the obvious spam registrations. I just approved you about five minutes ago, so you should have an email soon.

According to Melissa on May 3, 2014
  • I clicked the register button, but I still haven’t received an email to activate this site. Could you let me know Melissa?

According to Sandy on May 3, 2014
  • Emailng your information shortly 🙂

  • Hi! I just registered to your site (I put Webberfan down, though I don’t know if that matters). I got en email with a password, but no activation code. I don’t know what to do/what I did wrong. Any help would be great!

p.s. I’m so happy you’re back. I don’t watch GH anymore, but I’ve always loved your writing!

According to Mary on May 5, 2014
  • Yeah, I approve all new members to avoid spam members. You should receive your activation code in the second email. If not, let me know!

According to Melissa on May 5, 2014
  • I got another email saying I was approved, but it didn’t have an activation code in it.

According to mary on May 6, 2014
  • I manually sent you the activation code. This is a new and disturbing problem, but you should be good to go.

According to Melissa on May 6, 2014
  • Hi, I get your update emails but I’ve never gotten an activation code.

According to Jane Hughes on October 11, 2014
  • Hi, I registered at your site and received a password but no activation code. If you could help me that would be great, thanks!

According to Kristine on November 29, 2014
  • Hello! Sorry for the problem — I’ve sent you an activation code, but you shouldn’t need it since I decided to deactivate that particular plugin — it hasn’t worked correctly for months. I sent you an email with a password. Try logging in with that.
